Improving the economic well-being and quality of life in Africa

Our Economic Development Program was created to equip entrepreneurs and small business owners to create jobs that will thrive in today’s economy. In Togo, where we operate, despite the efforts made by the Togolese government to curb youth unemployment and underemployment in Togo and the convincing results obtained, the general employment situation in Togo remains very critical. Underemployment increased from 22% to 24.9% between 2011 and 2015. The main barriers to employment are related to the mismatch between youth skills and labor market needs and the lack of economic opportunities. However, in recent years, the socio-political situation has become less tense, and the economy has started to recover, but the conditions for entering the labor market and for practicing a profession remain particularly difficult. Thus, it is young women and men who continue to bear the brunt of the imbalance in the labor market. It is in this sense that AFRICAN IMPACT, in support of the government’s actions, we implemented five (5) main core projects within our Economic Development Program.
